Basement Fire Causes $150K In Damage To Maryland Home

A Maryland home suffered extensive damage when a basement fire broke out, state officials announced.

In Carroll County, nearly four dozen firefighters responded to the 1100 block of Colonel Joshua Court in Westminster at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, where there was a reported fire in a two-story, single-family home.

The office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal said that in total, 40 firefighters were on hand to battle the one-alarm basement fire, which was knocked down in approximately 20 minutes.

No injuries were reported, though the blaze reportedly did an estimated $150,000 in damage to the property.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though it is not considered criminal in nature. No additional information was reported by the State Fire Marshal.
